Coupa CEO steps down, names interim top exec

May 01, 2023

Coupa, a spend management software firm that provides a vendor management system, reported CEO Rob Bernshteyn has left the company after more than 14 years as CEO and chairman. The company named Charles Goodman as interim CEO effective immediately; Goodman, who had recently taken over the chairman role at Coupa, has more than 30 years of experience in software.

“Rob’s strategic thinking coupled with his focus on operational excellence helped Coupa catapult from a small start-up to a leading enterprise software franchise,” Goodman said. “The entire Coupa community is grateful for his service and leadership. Rob steps away with Coupa well positioned to capitalize on this large and expanding global market.”

In February, Coupa announced that investment firm Thoma Bravo had completed the acquisition of the company in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $8.0 billion. The deal included a significant minority investment from a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
