Cognizant to acquire Thirdera

December 13, 2023

IT services firm Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. (NASDAQ: CTSH) signed a deal to acquire Thirdera, an IT services and consulting provider based in Broomfield, Colorado, that specializes in the ServiceNow platform.

The acquisition brings an on-shore and near-shore global presence for Cognizant’s ServiceNow group.

“I believe the combination of Cognizant's deep industry, AI and platform expertise paired with Thirdera's leading-edge offerings in enterprise transformation will position Cognizant at the forefront of thought leadership and innovation in the ServiceNow ecosystem,” Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S. said in a press release.

The deal is expected to add more than 940 employees to Cognizant’s ServiceNow group. Thirdera has ServiceNow consultants in North America, Spain, Colombia, the Netherlands and Australia. Thirdera also operates a ServiceNow training platform called Thirdera University.

Plans call for the deal to close in January 2024. Terms of the transaction were not announced.

In addition, the deal comes after Cognizant’s and ServiceNow’s announcement in June of a strategic partnership to advance adoption of AI-driven automation across industries.

ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott said in a press release the Thirdera acquisition will boost Cognizant’s ability to build generative AI solutions.

“This acquisition puts Cognizant well on their way to building a $1 billion-plus joint business that can accelerate value for our customers,” McDermott said.
