Cherry Bekaert acquires Cordia Partners and Cordia Resources, deal includes staffing services

Cherry Bekaert, a provider of outsourced accounting services, acquired Cordia Partners and Cordia Resources in a bid to expand its offerings and its presence in the Washington metro area. Cordia Partners provides outsourced accounting and other services while Cordia Resources provides professional staffing.

The deal closed Sept. 7.

“Cordia provides a prime opportunity for us to expand our offerings and strengthen our practice in the Washington DC, metro area,” Michelle Thompson, CEO of Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC, said in a press release. “Cordia Partners significantly boosts our client accounting services capabilities and capacity, while Cordia Resources brings a completely new additive recruiting service to our current offerings.”

Cordia Partners and Cordia Resources have approximately $48 million in annual revenue and three offices in the Washington metro area.

“The services offered by Cordia complement those of Cherry Bekaert. This synergy affords our clients the opportunity to access an expanded and innovative range of service offerings,” said Mitchell Weintraub, CPA, co-founder and managing partner of Cordia Partners. “Furthermore, this acquisition will enable our team to develop fresh skills and foster new connections, leading to the creation of mutually beneficial achievements.”

Joseph Greeves, CPA, co-founder of Cordia Partners, and managing partner of Cordia Resources, said the acquisition will enable the companies to support additional client needs.

Weintraub and Greeves will remain with the company. Weintraub’s title will be finance and accounting advisory leader at Cherry Bekaert, while Greeves’ title will be recruiting and staffing services leader at Cordia Resources.

Cherry Bekaert is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
