Canadian staffing index rises 11% in May, shows moderate growth

June 21, 2017

The Canadian staffing index rose 11% in May from April and 9% when compared with May of last year. The index, which measures staffing activity in Canada, rose to a reading of 110 from a reading of 99 in April.

“The May index value of 110 suggests moderate year-over-year growth after adjusting for the number of working days,” says Maxim Kupfer, research associate at Staffing Industry Analysts. “May 2017 had one additional working day than May 2016.”

Staffing Industry Analysts produces the index on behalf of the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services.
