Canadian staffing index declines in May

June 20, 2016

The Canadian staffing index fell in May, continuing a trend of moderate year-over-year declines. The index, which measures staffing activity in Canada, fell to a reading of 101 in May, down 1% from May 2015.

“Throughout 2015 we observed a trend of moderate year-over-year declines in the Canadian Staffing Index,” said David Francis, CCWP, research analyst at Staffing Industry Analysts. “This trend continued in May, as volume was slightly below levels in May of last year, despite an extra working day this year.”

Staffing Industry Analysts produces the index on behalf of the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services.
