Canadian recycling plant to pay C$1.3 million for wage violations (The Star)

The Toronto Star newspaper reported Canada Fibers Ltd., which operates a recycling plant serving the city of Toronto, will pay C$1.33 million (US$1.07 million) in fines and back pay to workers for violating the city’s fair wage policy. Most of the workers were agency temp workers; the company will now be using directly hired workers, the newspaper reported.
