California, Florida areas are tops in gig economy, report says

March 28, 2016

San Francisco and Palm Bay, Fla., topped a list of top places for workers looking to find work in the gig economy, according to a report this month by Thumbtack, a human cloud firm. The report examined areas with more than 1 million residents for the rate of adoption of digital platforms and was based on Thumbtack’s research.

While San Francisco is home to the headquarters of many on-demand firms, Palm Bay is home to Kennedy Space Center.

No. 3 on the list was Chicago. It was followed by Madison, Wis., and Nashville.

Thumbtack discussed the report in a blog post.
