Chief marketing officers top the list of highest-paid technology professionals, according to the annual salary guide by Mondo, an Addison Group company that provides technology and marketing staffing. CMO salaries range from $250,000 to $400,000.

Chief information officer ranked second on the list with salaries ranging from $220,000 to $410,000, while vice president of IT ranked third at $220,000 to $410,000.

“Year over year, with the role of technology increasing, we are witnessing the specificity of skill sets become more granular,” said Mondo President Stephanie Wernick-Barker. “In tandem, the need for qualified professionals to operate, regulate and innovate technology is critical for [companies] to be successful.”

The 2023 top five highest-paying tech salaries are:

1. Chief marketing officer: $250,000-$400,000
2. Chief information officer: $220,000-$410,000
3. VP, VP of IT: $220,000-$410,000
4. Chief information security officer: $200,000-$400,000
5. Chief growth officer: $218,000-$360,000

According to the report, the key factors for current market ranges to inform 2023 hiring and compensation strategies include the remote effect, flexibility, location-based expectations and new roles.
