Brazilian Senate approves labor reform bill (plus55)

The Senate’s Justice Committee last night approved the Brazilian government’s labor reform bill in a 16-9 vote, plus55 reported. The text is a major overhaul of the current labor legislation, altering 110 rules of the labor code. Among its core points is a bill that allows businesses to outsource any kind of labor. The bill must now be approved by two-thirds of the floor, or 54 of 81 votes.
