Boyden buys UK-based executive search practice with energy focus

March 19, 2024

Executive search firm Boyden acquired fellow executive search firm FWB Park Brown’s energy practice based in Scotland effective March 1. The move aims to strengthen Boyden’s industrial practice and enhance its ability to serve clients globally in the oil, gas, mining and renewables industries, according to the company.

With the acquisition, Boyden will have a UK office in Aberdeen, Scotland, in addition to an office in London.

“We are delighted to have come to an agreement with FWB to acquire their Aberdeen-based oil, gas and energy practice. Boyden’s global footprint in energy was highly attractive to John Cameron, who will now join our rapidly developing UK business as managing partner of our energy practice along with Peter Roberts, Nia Lynch-Cryle, Kieran Whyte and Jemma Knight,” Nick Robeson, managing partner for Boyden in the UK and Ireland, said in a press release.

Tarrytown, New York-based Boyden provides executive search, interim management and leadership consulting solutions and has more than 70 offices in over 45 countries.

Boyden has been contacted for further comment.

“This transaction delivers a great new home for the business and its people, enabling FWB to fully focus on what we regard to be our core sectors and markets across the UK and internationally. Our decision to sell the Aberdeen business completes a process that began in 2020 when we sold our US Energy business,” FWB Managing Director Scott Black said in a press release.
