The Seattle Times reported Boeing is hiring back 500 to 800 retirees on a temporary basis and also adding some permanent positions. To lure the retired machinists back to work, the jet maker is taking the unusual step of paying bonuses. Boeing is also talking to the engineering union about bringing back some of its former members on a contract basis.
