BelFlex acquires automotive staffing provider

January 10, 2017

BelFlex Staffing Network, a light industrial staffing agency, acquired automotive staffing solutions provider First Line Emergency Response Team. The acquisition brings BelFlex new specialized staffing and workforce solutions, while FLERT customers will gain expertise outside of automotive quality.

The transaction closed Dec. 21; terms were not disclosed. There are no immediate plans to change the name of the FLERT brand.

Birmingham, Ala.-based FLERT’s footprint in the automotive industry approximates BelFlex’s in the light industrial market. BelFlex is headquartered in Cincinnati.

“The addition of FLERT’s quality inspection expertise supports our goal of being the premier provider of light industrial staffing solutions,” BelFlex CEO Mike McCaw said. “Our clients in the automotive space will experience more powerful staffing solutions with the combined strengths of FLERT and BelFlex. The team at FLERT is known for its specialized talent resources and immediate response time, and we couldn’t be more pleased about them joining the BelFlex team.”

Holly James, CEO of FLERT, will join the BelFlex management team as quality services manager. James founded his company in 2009 after 21 years in transportation and manufacturing management. The acquisition will allow it to serve a wider audience across the Midwest and Southeast.

“We are excited to join forces with BelFlex,” James said. “The size and scale of BelFlex offers our clients new opportunities and solutions, and opens even more doors for exceptional talent.”

FLERT has a team of more than 300 trained quality inspectors with 20 supervisors and team leads.
