Barrett Business Services Inc. (NASDAQ: BBSI) reported Nov. 2 that third-quarter revenue edged down 0.2% year over year to $273.3 million. The Vancouver, Washington-based company also reported revenue in its temporary staffing services revenue fell 25.1% due to lower demand for staffing services and continued tight labor market conditions. However, revenue in its professional employer organization business rose 2.8%.
“We continued to generate strong results from our expanding client base and the ongoing rollout of BBSI Benefits,” BBSI President and CEO Gary Kramer said in a press statement. “I’m proud of the success we’ve had adding net new clients as we’ve continued to experience results from our investments in marketing and new product offerings.”

Shares in Barrett closed down 5.61% on Nov. 2 to $95.01; they were 5.79% below their 52-week high, according to FT.com.
