Amazon to hire 250,000 in preparation for holidays

September 20, 2023

Amazon plans to hire 250,000 workers in full-time, seasonal and part-time roles across its operations network ahead of the holiday season.

These role range from packing and picking to sorting and shipping.

“A fulfillment or transportation employee who starts with us today will see a 13% increase in pay over the next three years — likely more, including our annual wage investments — and that’s on top of offerings like pre-paid college tuition with Career Choice and heath care benefits on day one,” John Felton, Amazon’s senior VP of worldwide operations, said in a press release.

Pay for the roles is between $17 per hour and $28 per hour depending on location. They can also have sign-on bonuses of between $1,000 and $3,000.

Separately, Target is adding 100,000 season team members this year.
