Aloha state posts lowest jobless rate in March

Hawaii posted the lowest jobless rate among US states in March at 2.1%, the US Bureau of labor Statistics reported today. It was followed by New Hampshire and North Dakota at 2.6% each.

Alaska posted the highest jobless rate at 7.3%. It was followed by the District of Columbia and New Mexico at 5.6% each.

The total US unemployment rate in March was 4.1%.

Two states had month-over-month increases in nonfarm payroll employment in March compared to February. They were Texas, which added 32,000 jobs, and Utah, which added 6,300.
