Allied Healthcare International Inc. (NASD: AHCI), a New York-based homecare and healthcare staffing firm that does all of its business in the United Kingdom, announced today that its U.K. subsidiary, Allied Healthcare Group Ltd., has acquired BiJu Ltd, a Lancaster, England, homecare services provider.

Founded in 1991 by Bill and Julie Evans, BiJu’s services include rehabilitation, physical disabilities, sensory impairment and extra care sheltered housing projects. Allied paid GBP1.28 million ($2.1 million) in the deal, with an additional GBP320,000 ($500,000) payable after 12 months, if the unit generates pro forma EBITDA of GBP370,000 ($610,000).
