Advanced Medical acquires IPI Travel Nursing

September 13, 2016

Advanced Medical Personnel Services Inc., a provider of allied healthcare travel staffing, two weeks ago acquired Indianapolis-based IPI Travel Nursing.

The deal follows Advanced Medical’s acquisition in April of Rise Medical Staffing, a privately held provider of travel nurse staffing services.

The transaction brings Advanced Medical to six locations nationwide — Florida, Colorado, California, South Dakota, Indiana and Oregon— and more than doubles its market share and sales over the last 12 months.

The combined companies will maintain IPI’s operations in Noblesville, Ind., IPI President Letha Engelman told the Indianapolis Business Journal. She said she and her husband, John, will have a “vested interest” in Advanced Medical.

IPI, founded in 1999 as Innovative Placements Inc., has 41 employees who help recruit and match nurses and therapists to healthcare facilities in all 50 states, including more than 100 hospitals in Indiana, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal.

Advanced Medical, which was acquired by private equity firm Clearview Capital last year, aims to reach $250 million in revenue in four to five years through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. The company seeks small to midsize travel nursing, travel therapy or school therapy focused staffing companies.
