ASA staffing index rises

July 25, 2017

The American Staffing Association’s index measuring employment in the US staffing industry jumped to a reading of 95.21 for the week of July 10 to July 16, reaching the highest value for the same week since 2014. Temporary and contract staffing employment rose 4.40% from the prior week, nearly offsetting the decreases of the prior two weeks caused by the Independence Day holiday. Staffing employment rose 1.88% from the same week last year.

Over the past month, the ASA Staffing Index averaged 94.10, remaining above a value of 94 for the 11th consecutive four-week period. Year over year, the four-week average rose 1.20%.
