The American Staffing Association’s index measuring employment in the US staffing industry edged up to a reading of 95.38 for the week of August 8 to August 14, the highest index value so far this year. Temporary and contract staffing employment edged up 0.46% from the prior week but fell 0.88% from the same week last year.

The four-week moving average for the ASA Staffing Index was 94.99, the highest four-week moving average so far this year, and was 0.52% lower than the comparable period of last year.
