ASA kicks off National Staffing Employee Week, names honorees

The American Staffing Association kicked off National Staffing Employee Week this week by naming Brittney Bourgeois as the 2018 National Staffing Employee of the Year. The week aims to honor the contributions of the more than 3 million temporary and contract employees who work through staffing firms.

Bourgeois works as a speech language pathologist in the St. Louis public school system through Supplemental Health Care.

In addition, the ASA named four National Employee of the Year All-Stars:

Fawaz Joseph was named the engineering, IT, and scientific sector all-star. Joseph works through the ettain group where he was assigned to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in Rockville, Md., where he ultimately moved to a permanent position.

Tayvon Snowden was named the industrial sector all-star. Snowden is a temporary employee of Delta Global Services on assignment with New South/McCarthy Synergy Cargo at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Jessica Dorny was named office-clerical and administrative sector all-star. Dorny worked through Parker Staffing Services, a Jackson Healthcare company, at Omeros Corp., a biotech company in Seattle. Dorny is now permanently employed at Omeros.

Ken Martin was named professional-managerial sector all-star. Martin works through LaSalle Network where has worked multiple assignments at ACH, a consumer goods company in the Chicago area.

“During the past year, more than 13 million people contributed to our nation’s productivity by providing their talents and skills to businesses as employees of staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions firms,” said Richard Wahlquist, ASA president and chief executive officer. “ASA salutes Brittney Bourgeois and all of the National Staffing Employee of the Year sector All-Stars as shining examples of staffing success, and looks forward to celebrating the contributions of these honorees and the millions of temporary and contract employees during National Staffing Employee Week.”
