AI startups in India claim to provide emotion recognition systems that can classify the moods of employees as they walk into their workplace, writes Vidushi Marda in an article for the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for the Advanced Study of India. “This market is not unique to India,” Marda writes. “It is steadily growing across jurisdictions, from the EU trialing it to detect deception at borders to the Chinese market focusing on driving safety and education to South Korean companies using it to hire tech.”
