75% of Gen Z to reconsider applying at a company with unsatisfactory D&I efforts

September 19, 2022

Gen Z candidates are evaluating employers’ efforts to diversify the workforce when deciding whether to apply, according to a survey by Gen Z recruiting platform RippleMatch.

Overall, 75% of candidates said they would reconsider applying at a company if they were unsatisfied with its D&I efforts.

Meanwhile, 46% of male candidates are confident about finding a role that meets their standards this year, while 36% of women feel the same.

Among women from underrepresented backgrounds, 44% of Black women believe finding a role that meets their salary expectations will be the biggest challenge this season.

Additionally, 74% of Black women and 68% of Hispanic women say they would rescind an acceptance for another with more competitive compensation.

Although hybrid work is the most preferred work setting across all candidates, the findings also reveal that a larger share of Black and Hispanic candidates prefer fully remote work than White and Asian candidates.

The survey includes responses from more than 2,600 college students.
