Kelly Services Inc. (NASD: KELYA) announced two engineering market acquisitions aimed at bolstering its presence in the 5G technology space: Global Technology Associates LLC, or GTA, and NextGen Global Resources LLC.
The acquisitions took effect at the start of the year; terms were not disclosed. GTA and NextGen will continue to operate under their own brands.
Headquartered in Reston, Va., GTA provides telecommunication network design, implementation, testing, optimization and software development services. Staff augmentation is part of its model and delivery.
NextGen provides staffing to Fortune 500 companies in the telecommunications, wireless and connected technology sectors. It has offices in Chicago, Philadelphia, San Diego and Nashville.
“Acquiring NextGen and GTA represent forward-looking investments in a relatively untapped specialty market that’s primed for growth,” Kelly Services President and CEO George Corona said.
John Drew, VP and managing director of global managed solutions, told Staffing Industry Analysts that the acquisitions play into Kelly’s strategy to increase its engineering staffing offerings, specifically its footprint in the telecom industry.
“The plan is to operate the firms independently, and to accelerate the growth on behalf of both of them,” Drew said.
NextGen President Amy Moreno and GTA Founder and Chairman Farzad Ghassemi will continue to lead their respective brands. Both will report to Drew.
