Chief information officers and chief technical officers top this year’s list of highest-paid technology professionals, according to the annual technology salary guide released by Mondo, a New York-based IT and digital marketing staffing provider.
CIO and CTO salaries range from $170,000 to $285,000 this year, according to the report. Beyond the CIO and CTO positions, the technology jobs with the highest salaries in 2017 include:
- Demandware developer: $150,000 to $250,000
- Chief information security officer: $145,000 to $250,000
- DevOps lead/engineer: $115,000 to $250,000
- Chief data officer: $162,000 to $228,000
- Director PMO: $125,000 to $225,000
- Data scientist: $130,000 to $210,000
- Data architect: $130,000 to $210,000
- Application security engineer: $125,000 to $210,000
- Solutions architect: $140,000 to $200,000
- Project manager: $90,000 to $200,000
“Salaries for IT professionals continue to increase with more than 12 different positions earning more than $200,000 a year,” said Gianna Scorsone, senior VP of marketing and sales operations for Mondo. “This year we have seen a spike in salaries for Demandware Developers and DevOps Engineers with salaries of up to $250,000. Tech professionals with data analysis, security, and software developer expertise are in especially high demand.”
The technology salary data is based on Mondo’s placements over the past year in New York City, San Francisco, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Denver, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Dallas.
