Healthcare added 58,000 jobs in January compared to December for a total of nearly 16.7 million, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in its monthly jobs report. That is above the average of 47,000 jobs added per month in 2022.

January’s healthcare job growth occurred in ambulatory health care services, up 30,000; nursing and residential care facilities, up 17,000; and hospitals, up 11,000.

Overall, the jobs report released last Friday was good news with temp jobs overall rising by 25,900 and total nonfarm employment increasing by 517,000 jobs.
