Gale Healthcare acquires two firms, expands into new markets

Gale Healthcare Solutions, a nurse staffing firm based in Tampa, Florida, reported the acquisition of two firms as well expansions into new markets.

The acquired firms were Scrubs Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky, and Zactly Healthcare with operations in Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Gale Healthcare’s acquisition of Scrubs began in the first quarter of 2020, and Zactly’s acquisition began in the fourth quarter of 2020. Both firms are now fully integrated into Gale’s operations. Both Scrubs and Zactly primarily provided per diem healthcare staffing. However, those markets now provide perm placement and travel assignments in addition to per diem.

Former Scrubs Healthcare CEO Eric Dorsey is now a market director at Gale Healthcare managing multiple markets across three states. Lisa Ketterer, formerly of Zactly, is also a market director focused on western states. Former Zactly clinical leaders Mark Sharak and Thomas Sharak are healthcare market managers. Dorsey and Thomas Sharak are also part of Gale’s clinical leadership team.

Terms of the transactions were not announced.

Gale also announced it launched an acute care division with service in California, Illinois, Kentucky, New York and Texas. In addition, the company launched a travel nurse division.
