Covid-19 affecting healthcare workers' mental health

Nearly three out of five, 59%, of US healthcare workers say Covid-19 has worsened their mental health, according to a survey by KPMG LLP, a US audit, tax and advisory firm. In comparison, 51% of workers in other industries said the same.

The survey included 1,000 workers and healthcare workers represented 194 of those surveyed.

KPMG also noted that healthcare works found greater connections, collaboration and higher quality of their work.

The survey found 66% of healthcare workers said their level of engagement with their supervisors/team has improved and 66% said coworker relationships have improved. And 70% of healthcare workers said quality of their work has improved.

In addition, it found 37% of healthcare workers are concerned about reduced pay, that is less than the 52% for all workers. They were also less concerned about technology replacing their jobs, 56%, than workers in general at 71%.
