Healthcare staffing firm Aya Healthcare’s Qualivis subsidiary acquired the staffing operations of Association Purchasing Services. The deal closed June 27.

Association Purchasing Services is also known as APS; it is a for-profit joint venture of the Kansas Hospital Association and the Missouri Hospital Association that provides services to hospitals. Aya acquired the staffing operations of APS in this deal and APS will continue operating with its other services. Jan O’Brien, who runs the APS staffing business, will be joining Qualivis.

The Kansas Hospital Association is a nonprofit association that includes 216 member facilities, of which 123 are full-service community hospitals. The Missouri Hospital Association is also a nonprofit organization; it represents more than 140 member hospitals.

APS clients already use technology from Symmetry, Aya’s recently acquire subsidiary. Clients will have access to more features in the wake of the deal.

Terms of the transaction were not announced.
