Wapiti Medical Staffing acquired the assets of Emergency Practice Associates, an Iowa-based provider of hospital emergency medicine practice management and staffing services.

The transaction closed Jan. 1 and terms were not disclosed.

Emergency Practice Associates provided temporary healthcare staffing and services — including locum tenens, billing/coding services, emergency department medical director and permanent placement — to the Midwest region. All services will remain and Emergency Practice Associates’ employees in Waterloo, Iowa, are staying with Wapiti Medical Staffing, with the exception of the CEO, who previously announced her retirement.

Wapiti provides a range of professional services and staff, including outsourced ER, hospitalist, clinic, urgent care and anesthesia coverage. It is based in Milbank, SD, with additional offices in Huron and Rapid City, SD; Salt Lake City; and now Waterloo, Iowa.
