The Japanese government wants to recruit 40,000 engineers from the Indian state of Karnataka, The Times of India reported. Once the recruitment is complete, engineers will train for one year in Japan.

The move is in line with the trend, seen by Staffing Industry Analysts, of Japan slowly easing its traditionally strong immigration limits to help the country overcome its demographic difficulties.
