Vietnam – More than half of companies plan to recruit post-pandemic (Viet Jo)

11 October 2021

More than half, or 56.7% of companies in Vietnam said they would start hiring staff immediately after resuming normal activities post-pandemic, reports Viet Jo, citing data from recruitment firm Navigos Group, part of Japanese firm En-Japan. 52% of workers answered that they would like to change jobs after controlling the new corona. Meanwhile, more than 30% of workers said they would not change jobs if their salaries and benefits were maintained. The data also found that 41.5% of workers were retired due to Covid-19. The main reasons for retirement were "reduction of personnel by the company” (cited by more than 30% of workers and the “cutting of salary and benefits” (cited by 25% of workers). By industry, in the real estate, construction, and manufacturing industries, about 38% of companies reduced salaries and benefits by 25% to 50%. On the other hand, most companies in the fields of finance, banking, insurance and IT (information technology) maintained the salaries and benefits of workers.
