View All NewsTaiwan – Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate improves in July to 3.68%
Taiwan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 3.68% in July 2022 from 4.36% in July 2021, according to data from the Directorate General of Budget Accounting and Statistics.
When compared to the previous month, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined by 0.05%.
On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate rose on a monthly basis by 0.04% to 3.78% in July; and declined year-on-year by 0.75% in July.
The number of unemployed persons was 448,000 in July, an increase of 6,000 (+1.33%) but a decrease of 91,000 (-16.85%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively.
Meanwhile, total employment increased over the month by 25,000 (+0.22%) in July to 11.39 million, moreover, it also increased by 33,000 (+0.29%) when compared with that of the previous year.
When compared with that of the previous year, employment in agriculture and the industry sector decreased by 12,000 (-2.18%) and 6,000 (-0.15%) respectively; by contrast, the services sector increased by 51,000 (+0.75%) in July.
Taiwan’s labour force participation rate rose over the month by 0.16% to 59.28% in July; moreover, it also rose by 0.33% from that of the previous year.
