View All NewsTaiwan – Seasonally adjusted jobless rate rises in July
Taiwan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 4.36% in July 2021 from 3.90% in July 2020, according to data from the Directorate General of Budget Accounting and Statistics.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined by 0.40% on a monthly basis.
On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, compared with that of the previous year, the unemployment rate rose by 0.53% in July.
Total employment increased month-on-month by 63,000(+0.56%) in July to 11.36 million, however, it decreased by 134,000 (-1.16%) when compared with that of the previous year.
Compared with that of the previous year, employment in agriculture, the good-producing sector and the services-providing sector decreased by 5,000 (-0.94%), 27,000 (-0.66%) and 102,000 (-1.48%) in July, respectively.
The labour force participation rate rose by 0.19% to 58.95% in July; however, it declined by 0.25% from that of the previous year.
