Philippines – Online recruitment surges 15% in November: Monster Employment Index

Online recruitment in the Philippines increased by 15% in November 2021 when compared to November 2020, according to data from the Monster Employment Index (MEI).

The Monster Employment Index (MEI) saw a surge in e-recruitment activity as the index rose to 130 in November 2021 from 113 in November 2020.

Month-on-month, the job demand noticed a slight decrease, as October 2021 saw an index of 131.

Online hiring demand in November 2021 exceeded November 2020 level in 10 of the 12 industries monitored by the Index.

IT, Telecom/ISP (34%), Advertising, MR, PR, Media & Entertainment (26%) and BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance) (26%) industries noticed a surge among all monitored industries in November 2021 from the year-ago level.

Meanwhile, the Hospitality (-4%) and Education (-11%) industries witnessed declines in hiring activity in November 2021.

Annual online demand for professionals saw an increase in all ten functional areas as monitored by the Index.

Software, Hardware, Telecom (47%), Finance & Accounts (37%) and Marketing & Communications (35%) saw robust growth among all monitored functional areas in November 2021 from the year-ago level.
