Online recruitment in the Philippines recorded an uptick of 10% in January 2022 when compared to January 2021, according to data from the Monster Employment Index (MEI).
The Monster Employment Index (MEI) saw an upsurge in e-recruitment activity as the index rose to 130 in January 2022 from 118 in January 2021.
Month-on-month, online job demand recorded an increase of 7%, as December 2021 saw an index of 122.
In the last six months, online recruitment activity recorded 4% growth.
Online hiring demand in January 2022 exceeded January 2021 level in 9 of the 12 industries monitored by the Index.
IT, Telecom/ISP (Internet Service Provider) (+25%), BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) (+19%) and Advertising, MR, PR (Media Relations and Public Relations), Media & Entertainment (+17%) industries reported a surge among all monitored industries in January 2022 from the year-ago level.
The Education sector (-17%) saw a drop while the Logistics, Courier/ Freight/ Transportation (-16%), Hospitality (-7%) and Healthcare (-1%) industries also reported declines in hiring activity in January 2022.
Annual online demand for professionals saw increase in all ten functional areas as monitored by the Index.
Software, Hardware, Telecom (+42%), Finance & Accounts (+29%) and HR & Admin (+22%) saw robust growth among all monitored functional areas in January'22 from the year-ago level.
At the same time, Sales & Business Development (-4%) and Healthcare (-2%) saw a dip in hiring activity in January 2022 compared to January 2021.
