Nisso Corporation (6569: TYO), a Japanese human resources firm providing staffing services, announced it is investing in battery manufacturer APB Co., Ltd., also based in Japan.

Financial details of the investment were not disclosed.

Nisso said the group will expand its business in the storage battery field, where demand is expected to grow.

“Demand in the battery industry is expected to increase in various fields in the future, and the market will expand significantly,” Nisso stated. “In such an environment, we are aiming to provide mass production technology support to expand production of APB's all-polymer batteries.”

The company added that it is able to provide sufficient support in a wide range of areas such as engineering and maintenance services.

APB was established in 2018 and is involved in the research, development, manufacturing and sales of lithium ion batteries.
