New Zealand – Government drops vaccine mandates, including worker mandates (The Guardian)

15 September 2022

New Zealand’s government this week scrapped the few remaining vaccine mandates, for workers including health and disability workers, and inbound travellers, reports The Guardian. New Zealand, which once controlled the virus through the toughest pandemic rules in the world, has made relaxations similar to Australian or European conditions. Mask-wearing will also no longer be mandatory in public places, and the last vaccine mandates will be ditched in two weeks. Guidelines from the government site stated that some employers may still require workers to be vaccinated due to health and safety.
