Japan – Will Group revenue rises 11.3%

Japanese HR firm Will Group (6089:TYO), which focuses on temporary staffing, business contracting and recruitment, reported revenue on Wednesday of JPY 108.61 billion (USD 824.5 million) for the nine months ended 31 December 2022, an increase of 11.3% when compared to the same period a year prior. Gross profit increased while operating and net income was down.

Will Group is engaged in the human resource business focusing on temporary staffing, business contracting and recruitment. The group operates in seven segments: Sales Outsourcing, Call Centre Outsourcing, Factory Outsourcing, Nursing Care Domain Support, Overseas HR, Others (Japan) and a recently added segment - Start-up Human Resources Support Business.

The group’s Domestic Work business saw revenue increase by 4.7% over the year. The Overseas Work business increased by 20.6% over the year. The Others business, increased by 61.9% compared to the same period the year prior. The group said that within its ‘Others’ business, it will expand new businesses such as ‘Emport’, a life support service for foreigners, to expand non-labour-intensive businesses.

Looking ahead the group forecasted revenue of JPY 144.0 billion (USD 1.09 billion) for the year ended March 2023.

Will Group shares closed on Wednesday at JPY 1,211 (USD 9.19), up 0.49% on the day. The company has a market cap of JPY 25.93 billion (USD 196.8 million).
