Japan – UT Group to acquire Japanese personnel dispatch company Seekel

UT Group, a Japan-based manufacturing dispatching firm announced it has acquired Seekel, a Japanese company also involved in personnel dispatching as well as outsourcing.

The price of the acquisition is JPY 1.71 billion (USD 16.2 million).

Seekel, established in 2019, dispatches about 1,000 workers mainly within the sectors of housing equipment, semiconductor, home appliances and office equipment, automotive, and other manufacturers.

“By adding Seekel Holdings’ sales base and client base to UT Group’s existing local business base, we believe we can further expand our local business base as well as our career platform,” UT Group stated. “We have therefore decided to acquire shares of Seekel Holdings.”

UT Group provides personnel dispatching services to manufacturing plants and dispatching services of engineers and technicians to the design and development, IT, and construction sectors.

The group said the impact of this transaction to its consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2021 will be immaterial.

According to SIA’s Largest Staffing Firms in Japan report, UT Recruitment was the 9th largest staffing firm in Japan based on revenue.
