Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida would like Japanese companies to raise wages by 3%, but some firms aren’t planning to do so, Reuters reported. A survey by the news organisation of some 500 Japanese companies found that 54% expect to keep total employee wages flat in the next fiscal year while 4% plan cuts. The survey did find that 42% plan to increase wages.
