Japan – Quick Co full-year revenue falls 4.5% as pandemic weighs in on recruiting business

Quick Co. Ltd (4318: JP), a Japanese staffing firm, reported revenue for the full year ended 31 March 2021 of JPY 20.09 billion (USD 184.5 million), a fall of 4.5% compared to the previous year.

Quick Co. Ltd provides recruitment advertising and dispatch (temporary staffing) services in Japan with overseas offices in the US, Vietnam and Mexico.

The group said it worked to rebuild its business base and strengthened its business foundation amid the pandemic.

Revenue in the human resources business was up 0.3% year-on-year. The pandemic impacted the recruitment business with revenue down 23.4%. Revenue in the information publishing business was down 7.5% over the year.

At the same time, revenue in the IT/internet-related business was up 27.7% while the overseas business saw a decrease of 23.3%.

Looking ahead the company forecasted revenue of JPY 21.40 billion (USD 196.5 million) for the year ended 31 March 2022.

Shares in Quick Co closed at JPY 1,140.00 (USD 10.47), up 0.26% on the day and 14.80% above the 52 week low of JPY 993.00 (USD 9.12) set on 1 May 2020. The company has a market cap of JPY 21.72 billion (USD 199.5 million).
