Japan – MRT revenue and profits on the rise

Japanese medical recruitment services firm MRT Inc. (6034: TYO) reported revenue of JPY 1.92 billion (USD 18.3 million) for the nine months ended 30 September 2020, up 5.7% compared to the same period last year.

The group said revenue was boosted by the expansion of its doctor referral service as well as its doctor life support service. Furthermore, the company launched a newly developed book publishing service.

Operating profit was up due to the increase in revenue and the reduction of allowance for doubtful accounts and impairment loss.

Looking ahead the company is forecasting revenue of JPY 1.90 billion (USD 18.0 million) for the year ended December 2020.

MRT Inc. engages in the business of medical personnel placement services.

Shares in MRT closed at JPY 1,484.00 (USD 14.10), down 6.14% on the day and 23.19% below its 52-week high of JPY 1,932.00 (USD 18.36), set on 21 October 2020. The company has a market cap of JPY 8.15 billion (USD 77.4 million).
