Engineering staffing provider Meitec Corp. (9744:TYO) reported Thursday that net sales fell 5.0% in the first half of fiscal year to 30 September. Net sales were negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the Tokyo-based company, which ranks as the 10th-largest staffing firm in Japan.

The decline in net sales occurred as Covid-19 and measures to combat it resulted in a longer training time for new engineers. New orders also slowed and overtime hours were reduced.
Guidance
Meitec forecast net sales will be down 3.5% for the full year.
