Japan – Careerlink upgrades full year expectations

Japan-based staffing firm Careerlink (6070: JP) announced today that it has revised its forecasted results for the year ended February 2021.

Careerlink upgraded its revenue forecast to JPY 29.66 billion (USD 284.58 million). The group previously forecasted revenue of JPY 26.98 billion (USD 258.87 million).

Careerlink also upgraded its forecasted operating income to 2.27 billion (USD 21.77 million) from the previously announced 1.79 billion (USD 17.17 million) as well as upgraded its forecasted net income to 1.62 billion (USD 15.54 million) from the previously announced 1.27 billion (USD 12.18 million).

The group said the volume of orders received in the manufacturing human resources service business, which was greatly affected by the pandemic, has recovered since the third quarter. The group added that it was able to receive new orders for large-scale BPO (business process outsourcing) projects in the quarter.

Careerlink added that its operating income forecast was upgraded due to the postponement of investments related to digital transformation to the next fiscal year.

Shares in Careerlink closed at JPY 2,151.00 (USD 20.63), down 2.58% on the day and 9.81% below its 52-week high of JPY 2,385.00 (USD 22.88), set on 30 December 2020. The company has a market cap of JPY 27.75 billion (USD 266.20 million).
