Japan – Career Design Centre upgrades Q2 and full year forecast

Tokyo-based HR services provider Career Design Center Co. Ltd. (2410:TYO) yesterday revised its forecast for the second quarter ended 31 March 2022.

The company had previously forecasted revenue of JPY 7.11 billion (USD 60.11 million) with an operating profit of JPY 401 million (USD 3.39 million) and net income of JPY 287 million (USD 2.42 million).

Career Design has upgraded its forecast revenue to JPY 7.28 billion (USD 61.55 million)  with an operating profit of JPY 601 million (USD 5.08 million) and net income of JPY 460 million (USD 3.88 million).

The group said the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the latest omicron variant was less than expected. Furthermore, the group said high recruitment demand continues and it has suppressed costs.

Career Design also upgraded its full year forecast with revised revenue of JPY 14.76 million from the previously announced JPY 13.75 million (USD 116,267). Operating income forecast was also upgraded to JPY 802 million (USD 6.78) and net income was upgraded to JPY 610 million (USD 5.15 million).

The group cited the less than expected impact of the omicron variant. Furthermore, it cited increasing sales and job offers and said that the women’s market will show a recovery.

Shares in Career Design Centre closed yesterday at JPY 1,411 (USD 11.93), up 10.6% on the day. The company has a market cap of JPY 9.84 billion (USD 83.2 million).
