Japan – Average hourly wage for temporary workers rises

Dip Co. Ltd. (2379:TYO), a staffing firm and job board operator, announced the average hourly wage for temporary workers in Japan’s three major metropolitan areas was JPY 1,546 (USD 11.07) in October, up 38 yen from the previous year and up three yen from the previous month.

Data comes from temporary worker job postings on Hatarako.net, a jobs boards.

The average hourly wage for temporary workers in the Kanto area was JPY 1,643 (USD 11.76), up 44 yen year over year and up four yen from September. The Kanto area includes Tokyo and other locations.

In the Tokai area, the average hourly wage for temporary workers was JPY 1,379 (USD 9.87), up 31 yen from the previous year and up two yen from October.

Meanwhile, the average hourly wage for temporary workers in the Kansai area was JPY 1,424 (USD 10.20), up 21 yen from the previous year and up four yen from October.
