The average hourly wage for dispatch workers was JPY 1,509 (USD 13.06) in January, up 0.6% from December and up 2.3% from January 2021, according to data released Wednesday by Dip Corp. (2379:TYO), a staffing firm and job board operator based in Tokyo. The data is taken from job postings on the hatarako.net jobs website.

Average hourly wage for dispatch workers was up in all areas. In the Kanto area, the average hour rose by 2.9% year over year in January to JPY 1,607 (USD 13.91). In the Tokai area, average hourly wage for dispatch workers rose by 1.8% to JPY 1,353 (USD 11.71) in January.

Dip also reported the number of job offers in January for dispatch workers, as agency workers are known in Japan, was down 0.4% from December but up 50.1% year over year. Total dispatch worker job ads totaled approximately 176,000.
