Japan – Artner revenue jumps 11.2% as profits rise

Japanese recruitment firm Artner (2163: JP) reported revenue last week for the nine months ended 31 October 2021 of JPY 5.99 billion (USD 52.7 million), an increase of 11.2% compared to the same period last year.

Artner provides employment recruitment services across Japan, offering permanent, temporary, and contract staffing services. Also, Artner is involved in the provision of mechanical design, electrical and electronic design, software, and chemical and bio-based research and development services.

The group said the number of engineers exceeded the same period of the previous year, and the occupancy rate was higher than the same period of the last year.

The assignment of new graduate engineers who joined the company in 2021 also progressed ahead of schedule.

The group added that it saw decreased expenses as the company promoted teleworking in recruitment activities and sales activities.

Looking ahead, the company forecasted revenue of JPY 7.99 billion (USD 70.28 million) for the full year ended January 2022.

Shares in Artner closed on Wednesday at JPY 855.00 (USD 7.52), down 1.5% on the day. The company has a market cap of JPY 8.91 billion (USD 78.37 million).
