Staffing firms in India are seeing demand for delivery workers in India is picking up even during traditionally slow months of January to March, and momentum is expected to continue in the coming months, the Economic Times reports.

Leading staffing firms like Adecco, TeamLease Services and Quess Corp have all reported an uptick in headcount, while some, like Manpower, say large e-commerce companies have streamlined their delivery agent headcount. Teamlease Services told Economic Times that demand is up 10%-15% compared to last year. Quess Corp noted that delivery agent demand has picked up in March compared to February and will further increase in April as summer season picks up across the country and keep growing into Diwali.

Manu Saigal, director, general staffing at Adecco India, said, “We were anticipating a lull because this is usually a slow period, but this year is quite different. Demand is at par with the previous quarter and nearly three times what it was at the same time last year.”
