India – More employees ready to return to the office (The Economic Times)

05 July 2022

More than half, or 62%, of staff in India are willing to return to the office in June against 40% in March; while more than a third would quit, look for a flexible job or seek time if asked to come back, reports The Economic Times citing a survey by Ciel HR Services. Ciel chief executive Aditya Narayan Mishra told the Economic Times, "This shift can be attributed to changes in the macro environment including inflationary pressures, wobbly stock markets and news of layoffs in tech companies. We see these changes impacting the confidence of employees to find alternative jobs.” Engineering, energy, infrastructure, pharma, healthcare, consumer goods and retail sector employees continue to be more open to working from their offices (71%). For many, working from home or remote locations has meant better work-life balance without affecting productivity, and they want it to continue, the survey added.
